Amy McCain decided to follow in her mother's footsteps and try her hand at Cosmetology.  She quickly took a liking to it and began exploring different aspects of the art.
​She was always the tomboy growing up and never really took much interest in beautification. However once in school, she found she had the knack for updos, coloring, and makeup. She had hit her stride with makeup and found the wonders of special fx.

 

She'd always loved movie makeup. Especially some of the more fantastical aliens and monsters seen on the screen.  As a fan of FaceOff on SyFy, she decided that is what she wanted to focus on. 

 

After graduating and getting her Cosmetology License, she started assisting FX MUA Francia Cohen in San Diego, learning the biz and building up her resume and portfolio.

 

Eventually she would like to go to Cinema Makeup School in LA.  But till then, she is working as a Hair Stylist, and both FX and Beauty MUA for films.  Beauty makeup when needed, special fx when it's called for.
